ABOUT THIS JOB
At Baker Hughes, this position is responsible for providing Baker Hughes Operations staff with consistent, state-of-the-art workshop functions and activities in support of field and base operations. To maintain and grow the company’s status as the recognized leader within the oil service industry by ensuring that workshop operations and activities carried out by Baker Hughes are to the highest quality level expected in the Oil & Gas industry. This position is vital to the Company’s drive for flawless execution through accountable workshop activities in its onshore and offshore operations.
Maintains tests and assembles product / tools / sub assemblies for operations. Work to pre-defined procedures in line with established work practices.
Complete tool inspections in accordance with engineering drawings.
Data entry database to input and access the necessary Maintenance data records to apply conditional based Maintenance routines and to enable problem / equipment failure investigations.
Compliance with HS&E policies and procedures
Assist in testing of tools and assemblies
Perform QA/QC functions and ensure approved workshop procedures are followed
Follow up ordering of workshop equipment and tools parts for routine maintenance
Ensure the workshop is organized to permit good workshop activities
Ensure that all workshop assembly and redressing activities are properly maintained in the appropriate Company intranet site and system
Maintain a record of serviceable workshop tools and accessories
Any other activities to be assigned from time to time by supervisor or manager
Coordinate the loadout and offload of offshore baskets and tool kits/boxes
Conduct all business activities in accordance with Baker Hughes Legal Compliance requirements and Baker Hughes Core Values.
Work with field engineers and field specialists to investigate unusual or unsatisfactory product performance to determine root cause and preventative action
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, assembly prints and parts lists and follow formal procedures and maintenance practices.
- Ability to read and understand the English language.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Good mechanical aptitude.
- Basic computer skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Basic skills in the use of measurement and gauging equipment and processes.
Technical diploma (HND) or Associates degree in a Mechanical field or Oil & Gas technology.
Versed in fluid power technology, and or in hydraulics and mechanical devices.
2+ years maintenance related experience in a mechanical function or Oil & Gas platform
Minimum 2 years relevant industrial experience
Basic machining and welding optional
