Apply at:*05FE08C9B475243EJob Purpose:Under general direction, oversees, plans, assigns, directs and coordinates all phases of civil airport facilities, roads, vehicles, equipment, utilities, and grounds maintenance, as well as custodial services, in line baggage handling, landscaping, and snow and ice removal through subordinate supervisory staff and contractors. Executes established policies and procedures while exercising independent judgment. Essential Job Functions:Develops a maintenance organization consisting of skilled technicians and support staff to carry out the responsibilities and duties of the maintenance function. Plans and schedules routine, preventive maintenance functions for all airport facilities, including buildings and associated equipment and systems (i.e., HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, security access control, fire alarm, public address, energy management control, baggage handling equipment, etc.), airfield pavement, airfield electrical systems, roads, mobile equipment, utilities, etc. Responsible for grounds maintenance including landscaping and custodial functions. Monitors energy consumption and ensures efficient energy utilization through our energy management control system. As Fleet Manager, responsible for developing a vehicle replacement program and develops specifications for new and replacement vehicles. Ensures maintenance work accomplished through contractors is performed timely and in accordance with contract requirements. Oversees the development, enhancement and efficient utilization of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including the work order system, material control and inventory functions. Develops safety standards and an accident prevention program for all maintenance activities. Supports the Operations department during snow and ice control operations (i.e., provides personnel and equipment). Develops, administers, and monitors an annual Operating and Maintenance Budget. Provides input to the Capital Improvement Program. Reviews construction plans and specifications from a maintainability standpoint. Assists with interviewing, hiring, and training maintenance employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems. Supplemental Job Functions:Performs related work as required.
Education and Knowledge:A bachelor's degree from an accredited college curriculum in engineering, management or a related field is required. A master's degree in business, management, or a related field is desirable.Knowledge of materials, methods and equipment used in the operation, maintenance, repair and improvement of civil airport facilities; ability to read and interpret plans and specifications; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; ability to direct and coordinate diversified maintenance and operational activities, thorough knowledge of federal, state and local laws, rules, and regulations affecting operation of civil airports.Must possess a valid Tennessee Driver's License, must maintain SIDA (Security Identification Display Area) and AOA (Airport Operations Area) clearance.Work Experience:Five (5) years experience in the operation and maintenance of a medium to large facility, or multiple facilities, and a minimum of three (3) years in a supervisory capacity. Supervisory experience with a group of over 50 personnel is desirable.
