Sr. Analyst, Legal Fee Reporting Specialist

Deutsche Bank is exposed to a number of risks on a daily basis. These range from credit losses, market price volatility and operational failures to liquidity shortages and regulatory and legal matters. Legal, Risk & Capital is charged with identifying, aggregating, managing and mitigating these risks.

Front-line resolution of escalated business specific issues across assigned project areas

Interface with internal and external contacts for resolution of process discrepancies in a timely manner

Monitor and escalate aging issues and unresolved disputes to management

Provide written commentary on outstanding open issues

Identify and escalate open issues that represent risk

Collate regular reports for monitoring purposes

Build a strong relationship with the client, understanding their needs and business operations

Understand business and regulatory requirements and ensure functions are being performed in those requirements

Reconciliation of entries and calculation for assigned business areas or assignment agreements, i.e. interest and fee calculations

Provide training and guidance to Process Specialists on the team

Participate in Departmental projects and initiatives

Prepare reports of legal fee spend and accrual data on a monthly and adhoc basis. Reports include:

Accruals of litigation and non-litigation invoices by business

US and global total external counsel spend

Litigation matter spend

Discounts received

Maintain the Access Database that houses all of the historical SAP and BIQ data

Assist in the development of the semi-annual litigation budgets

Assist in the analysis of litigation spend vs. budgets.


Strong Problem Solving and/or Analytical Skills

Proficiency in financial applications

Strong relationship abilities with internal departments

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Strong PC skills to include experience with MS Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint

Thoroughness and attention to detail

Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work in a team environment in order to achieve group targets

Excellent organizational skills

Graduate Degree holder preferably in Computer Science or Information Systems

Minimum of 1 year of analyst experience utilizing MS Excel

Strong analytical skills, organizational and interpersonal skills

Detail oriented

Ability to work independently

Proficient in MS Excel

Knowledge of MS Access a plus

Knowledge of Data Warehousing techniques and/or Database Administrator experience

Experience with using VBA and/or SQL for Data Cleansing and Data Validation

Experience with the month end accrual/closing process a plus


Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Business Management, Finance, Accounting or Economics combined with at least 2 years finance industry experience. Alternatively, 3-4 years of experience in the finance industry is required
