These are full-time, positions working Monday through Friday first shift. You must be able to work overtime. These positions will start Monday, February 20, 2012 and they will starting interviewing for the positions on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. If you are chosen for the position, you must pass a drug test and criminal background check before you start the position. The Structural Technicians will weld parts together using specified wire welding processes and performs related tasks such as flame, cutting and grinding. Job Description of Structural Technician - Mig Welder Includes:1. Uses MIG welder to assemble fabricated metal products in an efficient manner to maximize production.2. Operates the equipment in a safe manner and reports hazards associated with the equipment or its operators to the Safety Director and Maintenance Department.3. Produces strong penetrated welds that are smooth, no-porous, and consistent.4. Follows required procedures and uses appropriate jigs and fixtures to assist in the assembly process.5. Maintains/produces a level of output that will minimize production delays.6. Cleans and maintains an orderly work area.7. Communicates effectively with other workers to direct personal work flow.8. Skills and Abilities for Structural Technicians - Mig Welder:1. Knowledge of the welding process and equipment.2. Ability to weld vertical, flat, and overhead welds with a good penetration and a quality appearance.3. Ability to operate a plasma cutter and acetylene torches.4. Good communication skills relative to supervisor and other related departments.5. Math skills including fractions and angles.6. Ability to read tape measure and angle finders.7. Ability to read blueprint drawings and cut lists.8. Ability to lift 50 lbs.9. Physical ability to work and weld in awkward positions such as kneeling, lying down, and overhead.10. Ability to operate various shop tools including power and manually operated wrenches.11. Trained in forklift operations.12.
