Position Profile Business Analyst – Business Intelligence, Data and Knowledge Management Job Summary: This position will be responsible for working in the area of Business Intelligence, Data and Knowledge Management to review, analyze, evaluate, and help implement solutions in this area. This person will develop requirements and supporting specifications that meet the needs of the company. This person will provide expertise for the interpretation, synthesis, and translation of business and systems requirements throughout the systems development lifecycle. This person will gather and synthesize business requirements and translate these into functional and technical requirements to be used as input to designs. This person will support and contribute to unit, integration, and functional testing. This person will consult with users to document current operating procedures, processes, and workflow. This person will facilitate communication with the business to understand challenges and opportunities in the area of Business Intelligence, Data and Knowledge Management. This person will help document these challenges and opportunities and support execution of their solutions. Essential Functions:

Facilitate communication among business, product management, project management, and technology to ensure buy-in and an understanding of objectives, scope changes, and requirements

Participate effectively in internal and external meetings both as technology’s representative to the business and vice versa

Gather and synthesize business requirements and translate into functional and technical requirements

Support and contribute to unit, integration, and functional testing

Consult with business users to document operating procedures, processes, and work flows

Apply business and technology knowledge as a basis to drive optimal technology and business solutions

Evaluate and analyze business processes and requirements and help execute on solutions

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

Full understanding of software development and documentation processes

Ability to define, communicate, and gather requirements for technology projects

Experience with data feeds, web services, and web-based applications

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Ability to evaluate relevant technology-related problems in a timely, orderly, and insightful manner

Experience working with and analyzing large data sets

Ability to prioritize competing needs and meet established deadlines

Professional conduct must be consistent with and support company’s mission and core values.

Qualifications, Training, and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

2-4 years in any combination of Business Analysis and Software Development Experience

1-3 years of experience with basic technologies such as Oracle, SQL Server, and Java to support system and data analysis
