Associate Vice President for
Extended Campuses

Northern Arizona University seeks
an experienced and entrepreneurial academic strategist with proven
administrative skills and political savvy to help lead the
University's Extended Campuses distance-learning enterprise. The
Associate Vice President for Extended Campuses will build on a
consistent, multi-faceted brand that appeals to a diverse range of
current and prospective student learners at the undergraduate and
graduate levels who pursue their degrees at sites around the state
or online. S/he will work to advance and promote distance-learning
programs statewide, regionally, nationally, and globally.

The successful candidate will guide
efforts toward continued growth of student enrollment at thirty-one
statewide sites and online, and will contribute to strategic
planning for distance-learning programs. The Associate Vice
President will collaborate with colleagues across the academic
units and with community-college partners to increase the quality
and raise the visibility of programs. S/he will play a vital role
in developing new market opportunities. Reporting to the Senior
Vice President for Extended Campuses, this position is fundamental
to the University's distance-learning enrollment efforts and
strategic positioning, and provides an exciting opportunity for an

Northern Arizona University is a high research institution serving
a multicultural student body of about 25,200. Approximately
one-third (7,675) of the Northern Arizona University student body
are served by Extended Campuses at university centers or sites
around the state and in electronically-delivered programs. The
University is a leader in the uses of technology for distance
learning. Its dedicated faculty and staff, on the main campus and
at statewide sites, and its leading programs in education, health
sciences, and professional studies provide a dynamic engine for the
growth of the University. Off-campus and online programs grew over
6% in fall 2010, an increase of 3,572 credit hours from the
