Works as part of a team at summer day camp program engaging elementary aged youth in positive recreational, educational and social activities. Camp activities may include a variety of indoor/outdoor recreational activities such as hiking, orienteering, fishing, biking, canoeing/rafting, dance, arts & crafts, or environmental education.

Essential Functions:

Monitor youth 4-12 years of age during a variety of summer day camp programs. Assist camp instructor in implementing a specific summer camp curriculum. Prepare educational and recreational supplies prior to activities. Assist with the maintenance and cleaning of sports and art supplies.

Performs other duties as assigned. Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this position at any time.


Open to youth age 16 to 19 years of age who are currently enrolled in a formal high school education program, or its equivalent.

Possess (or be able to obtain) a CPR/First Aid certification.

Ability to interact with the public and co-workers in a friendly and professional manner. Must be able to work independently with limited supervision.

Preferred Knowledge, Experience, And Training

The superior candidate will have 1 year experience working with elementary age youth.
Licensing And Other Requirements

Must possess (or be able to obtain) a CPR/First Aid certification.

Special Requirements

All applicants must be able to successfully pass City of Boise background check processes which include reference checks and criminal history checks.

Physical Efforts:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally lifting/carrying up to 20 lbs. Also the employee is occasionally pushing/pulling up to 20 lbs. The noise level is occasionally moderate. Work includes sensory ability to talk, hear, touch and feel. Employees will sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. Position requires hand/finger dexterity.
Working Environment:
The work environment will include inside conditions, outdoor weather conditions, in wet and humid conditions, with areas of dust, odors, mist, gases or other airborne matter. Work includes protected exposure to bodily fluids, and chemicals.
