Our Communications/Data Customer Service Representative’s are key players who assist with many stages of the sales process – from, providing competitive pricing, communicating with multiple vendors and customers, and assisting in servicing the sale.
Graybar stocks and sells hundreds of thousands of items from thousands of manufacturers, including well-known manufacturers in the electrical industry such as S quare D, Panduit, Corning. and Berk-Tek. We’re looking for a self-motivated Customer Service Representative to take an active role in suggesting products and services to our customers and supporting our sales staff with the sales cycle. We are looking for an individual who possesses a broad knowledge of product lines and pricing, the aptitude to learn and apply new skills/knowledge, and a sincere interest in a career - not just a job. The products we sell range from simple parts to complex solutions.
The ideal candidate will have a solid knowledge of a variety of Communications/Data products and have experience in providing support on product selection and application of various product lines (i.e. fiber optic cable, patch panels, terminals, etc.) to a local customer base. The key responsibilities of this individual will be order entry, identifying alternative products, billing, credit and claims.

THE REQUIREMENTS
Takes an active role in the promotion and selling of Graybar products and services on all inbound and outbound calls.
Provides technical support on product selection and application.
Communicates with the customer and vendors to clarify specifications, identify alternatives, and to resolve problems with projects during the order process.
Assists the customer in the resolution of all disputes and claims.
May participate in joint sales calls with the Sales Representative to assigned Graybar customers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent, a Bachelors Degree preferred.
Experience: Previous Customer Service experience within the Communications/Data market preferred.
Knowledge: Broad knowledge of product line and pricing. Ability to deal with customers and factory representatives to obtain pricing information and their cooperation. A strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite. Good math skills. Good communication and organization skills. May require onsite customer visits.
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE
8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday; Some overtime required
