Commercial Banking Business Development Officer (BDO)
Creates sales opportunities for a Regional Commercial Banking Office(s) (RCBO), routinely as the initial contact for a prospective customer. Increases Wells Fargo relevancy to prospective customers and positions RCBO, leadership, and product partners for new business opportunities through consistent calling effort and delivery of value added ideas. Partners with the Regional Vice President(s) to develop the office sales strategy and to lead marketing efforts in a defined territory. Assists with sales processes including prospect prioritization, initial contact and pursuit strategy, identification of fit and opportunity, due diligence and proposal development, and overall management of new customer acquisition. Works with the RCBO(s) to initiate and advance new business transactions (including cross-sell opportunities) by delivering the appropriate Wells Fargo products/services available to meet the financial needs of the prospect or customer.
Location is open to cover territory in the Tacoma WA RCBO coverage area. Extensive travel throughout territory is required.
5+ years commercial sales experience.
Successful track record of growing a business or portfolio of clients. Demonstrated account relationship management experience, comprehensive knowledge of commercial lending and loan servicing, commercial products and credit practices, risk management, negotiating interest rates and price, terms and collateral requirements, demonstrated success in sales and marketing, strong organizational, interpersonal and verbal and written communications skills.
5+ year successful track record of new business development and/or growing a portfolio of customers in the commercial, middle market, business, and/or corporate banking segments
Demonstrated success in sales and marketing
Strong organizational, interpersonal and verbal and written communications skills
Comprehensive knowledge of commercial lending and loan servicing, commercial products and credit practices and risk management
Experience in negotiating credit structure and pricing
Experience in and knowledge of the WA State and South Sound marketplace for commercial, middle market, business and/or corporate banking .
Comprehensive knowledge of:
Commmercial bank credit practices (structuring and underwriting experience)
Other banking services commonly provided by major banking institutions such as treasury management, liquidity management, commercial insurance, hedging/risk management products, and employee benefits
Knowledge of investment banking products, asset based lending products, and other capital markets solutions
