Located in northern New Mexico, Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is primarily responsible for monitoring the safety and reliability of the U.S. nuclear stockpile and conducting research into new defense programs. It is a center for research in a wide range of scientific disciplines, including space exploration, geophysics, renewable energy, supercomputing, medicine, and nanotechnology. The Maintenance and Site Services (MSS) Division is a multidisciplinary organization whose primary mission is to provide the Laboratory with a safe, reliable and efficient facility infrastructure. The Division is responsible for nuclear and non-nuclear facilities and infrastructure maintenance. From laboratory office buildings to nuclear facilities, data centers, research facilities, our employees provide exceptional management of maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution to a broad range of customers. Detailed Description
Responsible to the MSS-FWE Maintenance Manager for the Labs wastewater collection system and responsible for all system alterations and contractor over-site. Also responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Sanitary Effluent Reclamation Facility (SERF). Will serve as backup to water system supervisor during absences. May also serve as backup for the waste water treatment plant operator. Will supervise represented workforce to include union craft. Job Requirements

Minimum Job Requirements:
Must possess a New Mexico Wastewater Level 4 Operator certificate which is required as condition for employment.
Must have the ability to interface as the system SME with outside contractors making alterations to the system. New Mexico Water Operator certificate desired.
Working knowledge of and experience with facility maintenance and supervision of work activities, to include working with systems engineering design, authorization basis, configuration management programs, work control, and facility control systems, upgrades and renovations. Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret various physical, mechanical, and electrical documents, blueprints, drawings, and schematics. Experience directing work and full understanding of collective bargaining agreements. Demonstrated ability with cost reporting and/or tracking tools. Experience and skill in identifying problem areas, investigating alternative solutions, and determining action to be performed on problems affecting maintenance management programs.
