To develop or support the development of technologies, products and/or processes to meet quality, cost, schedule and performance goals.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science from an engineering school. An ABET-accredited engineering degree is preferred. Two (2) years of applicable experience.
Applies technical expertise, commensurate with formal training and moderate job experience, in the development of products and/or processes. Work involves choosing between alternative proven technologies with some originality and moderate technical risk. Designs and/or develops manufacturing processes and equipment. Recommends design changes to reduce costs, improve quality and increase product performance. Solves production problems and leads discrepant material reviews. Participates in plant layout activities.
Interacts on a regular basis with other functional groups and customers or vendors on technical and/or administrative matters. Recommends the resources to be committed to customers and vendors in the best interest of Rosemount. Works with Production, Production Control, Quality and other engineering departments. Assists in the selection of personnel for assigned projects. Assists Marketing by providing technical, cost, or schedule information.
Prepares detailed plans, generally spanning several months, necessary to complete assigned projects. Develops and approves schedule milestones. Develops and coordinates manpower, facility and equipment requirements for assigned projects.Proposes alternate plans for economic evaluation.
Administers technical procedures including process and work procedures. Implements industrial engineering system (standard cost data, capacity and equipment requirement forecasting, shop floor control system). Initiates and implements engineering change authorizations. Cost estimating and reporting system. Helps identify and prioritize opportunities.
Participates and may lead lean and six sigma improvement teams.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science from an engineering school.
Experience: Two (2) years of applicable experience .
