(Job Number: 008000) US-IL-Lyons Description Pursue this great opportunity with Walgreens, a Fortune 500 Corporation, in their expanding retail and home care business of integrated pharmacy, health and wellness solutions! This position is responsible for helping customers and patients in the pharmacy area and providing information regarding various healthcare related products and services. Providing excellent customer service by answering questions, registering customers for Take Care and other services, assisting with walgreens.com, scheduling appointments and making outbound calls to follow up after a healthcare visit. This position will provide feedback to leadership to help continue to define this role. Must be comfortable working in a dynamic work environment that requires flexibility and quickly adapts to change.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Providing customer service to patients in the store by registering them for Take Care and other services
Coordinating events in the Health Corner classroom
Contacting doctors and other health care providers regarding community events or scheduling tours of the new healthcare environment
Making outbound reminder calls to customers
Scheduling patient appointments and follow-up visits
Participating in training or other learning opportunities to become a specialist in healthcare related products like over-the-counter medications or diabetes testing monitors
Qualifications Required Qualifications:
Degree or Certification in a healthcare related profession OR at least 6 months customer service experience as a Pharmacy Technician or related healthcare experience involving a patient-facing role (e.g. Pharmacy Technician, Medical Assistant, Nursing Assistant, Practical Nurse, Dietary Assistant, Personal Trainer, Wellness Coach).
Basic Internet Explorer skills to include opening a browser, typing in URLs in the correct location, using a search engine, bookmarking a site, navigating using back/forward/stop buttons, and filling out forms online.
Experience developing ways of accomplishing goals with little or no supervision, depending on oneself to complete objectives and determining when escalation of issues is necessary.
Intermediate level keyboarding skills (at least 30 WPM, touch typing, formatting documents, 10-key numeric pad).
Experience identifying/determining customer needs in order to make customer aware of appropriate service/product.
Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours. Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual in Spanish and English.
License or certification as a Pharmacy Technician, Medical Assistant, Nursing Assistant, etc... as required by the state of employment.
2 years of experience working in sales or a retail sales environment.
Prior work experience with Walgreens.
