Life Flight Network (LFN) is a consortium of Providence Health & Services of Oregon, Oregon Health & Science University, Legacy Emanuel Medical Center, and St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. We serve Idaho, Oregon and Washington. We are proud to be one of the oldest and most successful ambulance systems in the country providing rotor, fixed wing, and ground transport service.

The Base Manager is accountable for 24/7 oversight of an assigned base, serving as a role model and resource for staff. The Base Manager provides overall guidance and leadership with an emphasis on safety, team cohesiveness, performance management, customer service and clinical excellence. The Base Manager is responsible for facilitating effective ongoing communication amongst staff, management and customers, and ensuring employees adhere to LFN policies and procedures. This position performs the duties of a Flight Nurse or a Flight Paramedic

Requirements:

- One to three years of Flight Nurse or Flight Paramedic experience required.
- Previous managerial experience preferred.
- Knowledge of marketing and outreach in a healthcare environment, air medical or EMS is a plus.
- Must hold a valid driver's license, an automobile in good repair, be able to provide proof of auto insurance, and meet LFN's Driver's Policy requirements and able to travel by personal or company vehicle throughout LFN's service area.
- Complies with weight restrictions (maximum 250 pounds fully outfitted to perform the job0
- Passport and/or Entry into Canada maybe required based on location assignment
- Strong leadership skills and ability to communicate and work with a variety of people one-on-one and in large groups, often in highly stressful situation
- Ability to work varied shifts and cover fixed wing call shifts

Current applicable RN license or EMT- P certifications required as listed below;

Flight RN Requirements:
Minimum of five (5) years of ICU/ED/Trauma experience within the last ten (10) years. Previous flight experience preferred. Flight experience can be substituted year for year for the ICU/ED/Trauma requirement. Current licensure and/or certification as listed below:

- RN license as appropriate to assigned location
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Trauma Nurse Advanced Trauma Course (TNATC) or Trauma Nursing Core Curriculum (TNCC) certification. Must have successfully completed the TNATC course prior to assuming independent duties; thereafter either TNATC, TNCC, or equivalent must be current
- CFRN exam must be taken within one year of hire, certification must be obtained within 2 years of hire
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) or Critical Care Nurse (CCRN) strongly preferred until certified as a Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN)

Flight Paramedic Requirements:
Minimum five years experience as an EMT-Paramedic, preferably in a large metropolitan area. Current licensure and/or certification as listed below:

- High school graduate or equivalent
- Paramedic certification as appropriate to assigned location
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- FP-C exam must be taken within one year of hire, certification obtained within two years of hire
- Completion of Department of Transportation Air Medical Curriculum within six months of hire date
