Provides expertise in the planning, design, development, training, implementation, communication, maintenance, and evaluation of new or existing functionality related to clinical and business information systems. Works as a liaison among stakeholders in order to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies, and information systems. Understands business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements and recommends solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals. Serves as an internal consultant to all departments to identify and achieve department and project goals. Provides direct contact with vendor and/or enterprise team to ensure customer needs are met.

This position is critical to the success of St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center and requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Dignity Health.

REQUIREMENTS:
Four (4) years experience in healthcare informatics.

Experience in project management as it relates to Electronic Health Record (EHR) applications, Patient Access, Patient Care, and Clinical Reporting.

Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare, Information Technology, or Business Administration or a combination of education and/or additional job related experience.

Knowledge of healthcare-related software applications. Strong understanding of process redesign including documentation of current and future state work flow processes. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to be self-directed with excellent organization, analytical and interpersonal skills.

Excellent presentation skills and conflict resolution skills. Understanding of physician/clinician needs and practice patterns and workflow in hospitals.

Ability to test, analyze, troubleshoot, and isolate complex problems.

Understands and employs fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures relating to systems analysis and design.

Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams through complex decision making, conflict resolution and abstract visioning and innovation sessions.

Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups including physicians, leadership, and staff.

Clinical documentation and healthcare business systems knowledge and training.

PREFERRED:
Graduate from an accredited healthcare program with focus on clinical practice such as Nursing, Pharmacy, and Respiratory Therapy.

Master’s degree.

Training in EHR system design and/or build. Informatics certification.
