We are seeking an entry level buyer, someone with a Supply Chain or Business degree who wants a career in purchasing. We will train the right candidate to purchase materials needed to support our manufacturing and branch operations.
Procure a variety of materials to meet manufacturing and branch operational needs.
Negotiate for the best possible pricing, delivery and payment terms.
Evaluate vendors on their ability to deliver products in a timely, cost-effective and quality manner and make recommendations for changes in source of supply where appropriate.
Track deliveries of vendors where necessary.
Produce reports as required on the status of any ongoing purchasing project.
Other duties as assigned.
Undergraduate degree in applicable field or equivalent experience and education.
Experience with PC workstations and associated business software.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications; Work, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook.
Experience with both standard and custom production practices.
Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing, with personnel ranging from the manufacturing staff to senior executives.
Effective problem solver with a “Can-Do” approach to any challenge.
