Position Summary:
The University of New Mexico Cancer Center (UNMCC) is a statewide provider of cancer care and is influential in the cancer field throughout New Mexico and the nation. The Official Cancer Center of New Mexico, the UNMCC is the only academic healthcare facility dedicated to both cancer research and patient care. We are also the only cancer center in New Mexico designated by the National Cancer Institute (NCI), and one of just 67 premier NCI-designated centers nationwide. We employ the largest staff of research scientists and clinicians in the state and participate in approximately 300 clinical trials at any one time. Our clinical and laboratory researchers were awarded $60 million in funding in 2011 and our clinic saw over 15,800 cancer patients from every county in New Mexico in more than 137,000 patient visits. We currently serve 65 percent of the adults and virtually all of the children in New Mexico who are newly diagnosed with cancer. The UNM Cancer Center at the Lovelace Medical Center currently seeks an Oncology Nurse who has experience working in a fast-paced, demanding environment. Oncology nurses provide direct patient care in an outpatient oncology setting. Delivering chemotherapy and blood products to hematology/oncology patients following 7 rights of administration. Preference given to nurses experienced with central line access. Coordinate care with physician, nutrition, social work etc. give supportive therapy medications. This position is benefits eligible. Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Nursing; at least 3 years of experience that can be demonstrated to be applicable to the duties listed in the job description. OR Bachelor's degree in Nursing; at least 1 year of experience that can be demonstrated to be applicable to the duties listed in the job description. State of New Mexico Licensed Registered Nurse or licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure OR current RN licensure from a state participating in the "multistate privilege to practice" compact with New Mexico.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience: 2-3 years of oncology or administering chemotherapy in ICU/critical care with central lines, infusions BSN OCN Chemo/biotherapy certified
