Under the general direction of the Director of Information Technology (IT), assists in the management of the data systems environment and technical systems support for UCH. Key responsibilities include assisting and providing technical guidance for teams supporting the UCH data networks, systems software, and software interfaces.

Areas of responsibility are physical and virtual server environments, open system environments, backup environment and storage area network environments.

Candidate must possess a history of strong leadership, deep practical engineering knowledge and a proven track record for timely project delivery, project management, cost control and customer satisfaction.

The desired individual is someone who will bring knowledge and creativity to the position as well as have the discipline to drive results and follow established fundamental processes and best practice.

Over ten (10) years experience with an emphasis in project management, information services management, or application/systems support.
Five (5) years of the required experience should have been in managing an operational function for a medium or large computer system environment OR as an experienced consultant completing detailed design and implementation IT projects.
BS, BA degree required or equivalent experience. Advanced degree preferred.
Extensive knowledge of general information technology theory, principles and practices.
Considerable knowledge of data and voice networking solutions, office automation systems, application development principles and database design, client/server development practices, web-based applications, and significant project management experience.
Breadth of experience with various hardware, software, and database management systems required.
Demonstrated ability to ascertain and meet user needs.
Skilled in problem analysis. Pays very close attention to detail.
Skilled in project management and workplan development and implementation.
Able to organize and delegate tasks, coordinate projects, and be willing to advise/coach others.
Effective oral/written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
Experience in Health Care helpful.
