Hill Air Force Base provides worldwide engineering and logistics management for the F-16 Fighting Falcon, A-10 Thunderbolt II, and the Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile, and performs depot maintenance of the F-16, A-10, and C-130 Hercules aircraft. The base is located between Ogden and Salt Lake City. The area is known for year round activities, including skiing, hiking, boating, extreme sports, fishing and hunting, with four distinct seasons, low humidity and moderate snow fall in the valley.

Individuals selected for an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position must meet and maintain ART requirements.
Applicants for ART positions must currently be a member of the Air Force Reserve or willing and eligible to join.
Retired military personnel are not eligible for Air Reserve Technician positions unless currently assigned in a active Air Force Reserve position or a waiver has been obtained prior to self-nomination.

As a Powered Support Systems Mechanic, WG-5378-08 Potential WG-10, the primary purpose of this position is to gain knowledge and experience at the WG-08 level before promotion to the full journeyman level of experience at WG-10.
Knowledge, skills and abilities required for the next higher position must be attained before promotion to the next higher grade.
At the full WG-10 level you will serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) journeyman mechanic that troubleshoots, tests, repairs, modifies, overhauls, services, and dispatches powered ground support equipment and to train reservists in the accomplishment of tasks.
You will also:
-Perform preventative maintenance on ground power support systems.
-Perform major maintenance on ground support equipment such as power sources, major components, support and associated components.
-Perform periodic routine and special inspections of all scheduled equipment and maintain records and document actions.
-Utilize safety practices and procedures and comply with following established security and safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work environment.

This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position.
The incumbent is required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements.
Work schedule will be aligned to allow incumbent to fully participate in unit training assemblies (UTA).
The incumbents regular assignments are ART duties; however the incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not-to-exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities.

SECURITY CLEARANCE AS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT.
Performs work which involves frequent bending, reaching, crouching, standing, and arm movement.

Inside work involves frequent exposure to drafts, changing temperature, and loud noise.

Both inside and outside, frequently exposed to irritation or discomfort from dust, heat, fumes, and hard damp floors or surfaces.

Incumbent is frequently exposed to the possibility of receiving cuts, burns, bruises, strains, and electrical shock while repairing, positioning, adjusting, and moving equipment, and is exposed to the possibility of receiving burns and skin irritations from acids, fluids and lubricants.
To reduce the dangers and irritations from the above conditions, the incumbent must follow numerous safety procedures and wear equipment such as protective eye glasses, ear devices, hard hats, hard-toe shoes, respirators, gloves, and clothing.
