We are seeking an experienced Billing Clerk /Revenue Accountant to manually prepare invoices based upon raw data downloaded into Excel spreadsheets. We are seeking a candidate who is extremely detail oriented but is comfortably operating in an environment of ambiguity and change. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, this position will be critical to the success of this new high-growth product line.

This position will initially be a 1099 contract position with hourly pay and no benefits. The position will have the potential to covert to fulltime company employment (with benefits) after 90 to 180 days.

Responsibilities:
  • Receive, review, and analyze internal Excel transaction reports and work with our Operations group to resolve any discrepancies before preparing invoices to our customers.
  • Reconcile our internal Excel transaction reports with EDI data to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare and send invoices to our customers.
  • Communicate with new customers to understand their payment processes and the invoicing methodology and formats that would allow them to accept and process our invoices in a timely manner.
  • Working with our Operations group, help develop processes and procedures to automate as many manual processes as possible.
  • Help develop, implement and maintain dashboard reporting for senior management to assess the progress and results of this new product offering.
  • Work with the Assistant Controller to develop revenue recognition policies associated with this new product offering.
  • Other related tasks and duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in related roles performing billings and reconciliations.
  • Extremely detail-oriented.
  • Well organized.
  • Comfort working with large amounts of ambiguous,
    often contradictory data.
  • Strong Excel spreadsheet skills.
  • Proficiency in working with accounting software systems.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with other internal groups to resolve problems.
  • A “self starter” who can work independently with minimal direct supervision.
  • Experience in developing revenue recognition policies is preferred but not required.
  • Passion for being helpful and doing a deep dive into troubleshooting.
  • Success in coaching and guiding customers in a professional environment both remotely and in person.
  • B.A. preferred but not required.

The optimal candidate will be someone who takes pride in their work, gets involved in the details, enjoys collaborating with others, and always wants to become the subject-matter expert in all areas of their job responsibilities.
