Job Description:
This position will be part of the Special Operations team who augment the design, fielding, and initial test activites for C2BMC assets deployed to often remote and austere locations. The team then transitions these systems into Real World Operations perforing system administation and operations activities to support the sites test or initial RWO mission. This team will work at various locations across the globe, often on short notice for extended periods of times.
Required Skills:
Candidate understands and has worked with Command and Control systems. Required knowledge and experience includes: fundamentals of network design and system engineering, and the software development and contractor logistics life cycles. Successful candidate must be a team builder, and possess outstanding written, verbal, organizational and interpersonal skills. Candidate must be a self-starting program solver with the ability to work with military and civilian personnel in a potential high stress situation with limited supervision.
Fielding background, self-starter, demonstrated interpersonal communications skills, able to work with minimal supervision, ability to multi-task, experience with fielding to international locations, experience with installation and set up of bare bones operating locations, knowledge of ECUs and power generators, Comsec loading and safeguarding experience, and use of RF systems such as link 11 or 16 for S-TADIL-J operations. Experience with servers and network communications hardware
The skill set that is required to be fulfilled for the Special Operations positions are:
Air Defense Systems Integrator (ADSI)
The ADSI is a suite of automated communications equipment capable of receiving and transmitting messages in a variety of TADIL formats. The ADSI will be the key interface between the Aegis Weapon System and C2BMC. A through working knowledge of the ADSI is required. Various tactical data link configurations and modifications to include Satellite TADIL J (STJ), MIL-STD-3011C, and Link 16 must be maintained. Although remote control of the ADSI is planned, it is not clear if that practice will be practical. Basic understanding of Link 16 would be very helpful
Internal Cisco Routing and Switching
Basic CISCO IOS knowledge will be required.
Firewall and Intrusion Detection System (IDS)
Basic Firewall and IDS knowledge will be required.
SIPRNet
Interaction with SIPRNet must be performed daily to retrieve and send status, operational plans, the OPTASKLINK, Satellite Access Authorization, NCTAMS Daily Comm Message, etc.
NIPRNet
Interaction with NIPRNet must be performed daily to retrieve and send status
Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN)
Working knowledge of the DRSN will be required.
POTS/STU III
General familiarity with a STU/STE system is required.
Communication Security
Regular COMSEC keymat updates are required for the encryption devices. The ability to perform this function accurately and timely is required.
Knowledge of COMSEC and COMSEC Loading Devices
Familiarity with Promina/Voice equipment
Jade equipment knowledge is a plus
Working knowledge of UNIX SOLARIS and Windows operating systems
Generator and air conditioning maintenance is a plus
UHF SATCOM Experience
Use of RF systems such as link 11 or 16 for S-TADIL-J operations.
Desired Skills:
Command and Control experience to include system architecture and network engineering. Experience problem solving and troubleshooting complex, distributed DoD systems. Software engineering experience and well as knowledge of 24x7 operations and support processes at Regional and Combatant Command Centers (STRATCOM, PACOM, NORTHCOM etc.) is desirable. Knowledge of Missile Defense and/or military systems is a plus.
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline or an equivalent number of years experience maintaining, troubleshooting and operating a large-scale command and control system with numerous communications interfaces.
