Summary
Establish and maintain effective communications with Sales, Supply Plants, Distribution Centers and other planning departments. Direct the functions of cold storage and general stores warehouses, freezers, distribution and inventory control. Insure all departmental activities adhere to company policies, procedures and philosophies in the attainment of assigned work schedules within budget costs. Responsible for functions and communications relative to transportation personnel and regulatory and management activities of same.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIE:
Directs the activities of exempt and hourly shipping and receiving team members.
Maintains liaison between plant operations, purchasing, cold storage facilities and distribution centers to provide efficient and economic production and distribution of goods and services.
Responsible for outside storage of finished goods and manufacturing supplies.
Manages and maintains accurate information transactions within the inventory control system to provide basic information for inventory management.
Insures special situation are handled properly such as:
Export requirements, sales requests for special customer orders, product recall situations.
Plans for the most economical means of putting together full load shipments.
Maintains liaison between shipping, operations and carriers to provide efficient and economic transportation services
Performs all functions in a legally and ethically thorough, but efficient manner, in accordance with established company policies and procedures. Qualifications
Ability to read, speak, write, hear and understand English in order to effectively communicate with vendors and employees by telephone, in writing or face to face.
Ability to perform record keeping and mathematics necessary for employment purposes.
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
