JOB SUMMARY:
Travelers is investing in the transformation of Business Insurance to a state of art rate quote and issuance system. The Product/Platform Director is responsible for participating in projects dedicated to new Business Insurance product and platform development. The incumbent will have subject matter expertise in Commercial Underwriting within the Worker-s Compensation line of business. The Product/Platform Sr. Director leads a team and will participates in line of business platform development, delivers presentations to multiple audiences and training internal and external groups and will work in collaboration with enterprise wide business units.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leads a team and will participate in product and platform development initiatives including the creation of capability advancements to maximize the full potential of the automated platform.
Manage platform enhancements by developing business requirements, consulting with Business Analysts, Quality Assurance and IT.
Analysis and reporting of existing product, platform and underwriting strategies including book performance, trending, and changes in the external marketplace.
Contribute to new product idea generation within and across business units.
Collaborate with other Travelers business units and Enterprise Product and Underwriting to support line strategies and develop new product and platform enhancements.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Proven success in people management involving performance management, mentoring, coaching, development of staff
Minimum 5 years Business Insurance Underwriting experience required with a strong focus on Workers Comp Underwriting preferred for this role. (Small Commercial or Middle Market or Large Account Underwriting- any combination thereof)
Expert verbal and written communication skills at all levels of the organziation
Exceptional quantitative reasoning and critical thinking,, organizational and time management skills.
Demonstrated creative problem solving and negotiation skills.
Ability to build partnerships and demonstrate collaboration skills needed for a team-oriented environment.
Ability to autonomously meet or exceed established deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint and overall computer navigation.
College Degree or equivalent experience
