Job Summary: This job is responsible for 24-hour coverage, supervision and oversight of the operations of the Environmental Services function at an FHS hospital site in accordance with the standards of the organization and applicable regulatory requirements. An incumbent supervises the work of subordinate staff that is engaged in providing basic and specialty cleaning services to all areas of the assigned facility. Work includes interviewing and selecting qualified applicants, conducting training, performing quality assessment observations, processing time-off requests and conducting annual performance evaluations. Esssential Duties: Supervises and oversees the work duties of subordinate staff engaged in cleaning all hospital areas and public space; prepares work schedules and conducts daily operational processes.

Orders supplies for department needs and monitors expenditures to maximize the use of resources in all department activities. Conducts new orientation training and completes employee training records as required; assists in preparation of performance evaluations at established intervals for all employees as required by FHS procedures. Monitors all equipment to ensure security, cleanliness, and overall safety of operations. Assigns project work as determined by special request or established intervals.

Identifies, reports, and takes corrective action to resolve maintenance problems, reports, and acts upon breaches in building security, and potential safety hazards. Conducts or participates in safety meetings, enforces safety rules and regulations, investigates accidents, and fills out reports. Reviews and participates in the development and implementation of department objectives, policies, and procedures. QualificationsEducation: Four years of recent related work experience, including one year in a "lead" or "supervisory" capacity.

Work experience in an institutional environment is preferred. Experience: Four years of related work experience, including one year in a lead, supervisory or management capacity.
