Job Description: As a S enio r Process Engineer for this dynamic and growing medical device developer and manufacturer, you will lead a high visibility Lean transformation effort expanding the company's position as a world leader in custom medical device manufacturing. T he results of this transformation not only will contribute to short term operational objectives, but also will achieve a cultural shift in continuous improvement. This engineer will use existing knowledge in Lean and related principles combined with on the job process expertise and stakeholder input to identify opportunities, p rioritize and manage multiple improvement projects. This key role is at the center of the company's future manufacturing capabilities in the North American facility and w ill have significant influence i n other facilities around the world.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
R esponsible for leading the implementation of a Lean program with the entire Operations team with full support from the senior leadership of the organization. At the execution level, y ou will m anage and mentor focused process improvement projects as part of our Lean transformation and coordinate other Lean events following your plan . You will manage consultants to support activities where necessary.
Assume a L eadership role in collaborating with production line managers, leads , technicians , and engineering staff to define and standardize work. As the engineer you are the * Process Owner* and in conjunction with the Process Responsible line manager s and production staff , lead efforts to achieve process robustness and process adherence.
Leadership role in collaborating with teams outside of production to support successful launches of new products and services. You are r esponsible for assuring new processes or process changes are robust and validated before these are deployed in live production .
R esponsible for the capabilities to collect and report on production metrics , improvement of visual management , and support ing the performance of the process .
L ocal Operations Functional Lead for the P roduction W orkflow S ystem (PWS) assuring its capabilities continue to grow in line with the production needs. You will also be responsible for its configuration management and support as needed.
W ork closely with Operations Engineers at other global production sites to maintain global process consistency , and support/lead cross site process improvement teams.
QUALIFICATIONS:
6-10+ years in process engineering or manufacturing engineering role s within a Lean manufacturing environment. Leadership role s in Continuous Improvement with a b ackground and working experience using Lean & six sigma t ools. Lean green-belt or b lack-belt desired. Proven cross functional project management experience in providing structure, direction and decisions for your team with a track record of both accomplishments and overcoming challenges. Exceptional verbal and written communication in English. Proven ability to concurrently work on multiple projects with diverse teams. Strong analytical experience using data to drive and support actions and decision making. A degree in engineering from an accredited organization. Preferences :
Experience in working in an environment that has culturally adopted the Toyota Production System (TPS). Experience in Operations with interactive software driven automation processes. Experience working within a regulated industry: medical, automotive, defense, aerospace are all acceptable. Facility planning with manufacturing process design
Compensation and benefits: Base salary $85-100K range with an outstanding company paid, comprehensive benefits program. Annual bonus potential also available.
