Come join our exciting team at Command Control Systems and Software (C2S2) located in Aberdeen Proving Ground MD The Senior Software Engineer will be providing support for Control Monitor and Alarm (CMA) software towards Heavy Satellite Earth terminals Will develop validate and document project software requirements as well as design code test and integrate software configuration items Will be responsible for designing and implementing ClientServer interface Graphic User Interface APIs and other interface between application programs as well as design and develop software Will write and implement software product test plans procedures generate detailed test result documentation identify causes of reported software problems and develop solutions Assist in the field installation of software and train users in proper operation of the new or modified software and components Write technical and weekly status reports participate in peer reviews and develop estimates for the design development testing documentation delivery and deployment of software Identify project technical cost or schedule risk throughout a project lifecycle and recommend approaches to risk mitigation The Senior Software Engineer will also be required to plan and estimate new releases track progress and provide regular reporting to senior management regarding Information Assurance activities Additional responsibilities include producing timely quality products using prescribed software technologies and approved processes develop and demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills brief materials and effectively interact with customer representatives Will be required to travel to customer andor to contractor sites to support project activities Qualified candidate will have a Bachelors Degree preferred in Computer Science Information Systems Engineering Business or related scientific or technical discipline and at least ten (10) years of relevant experience Ten (10) additional years of relevant experience may be substituted for education Must have a solid software and testing background Experience in software development information assurance project planning estimation and software project management is required Microsoft Operating System (Server 2008 and Windows 7) Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Office and US Government Satellite Earth Terminal experience is highly desirable Familiarity with Rockwell CollinsMaxview Microsoft Visual C C++ C Java LabView (National Instruments) HTML and InstallShield is desired Knowledge of CMMI militarygovernment standards and practices for software development and experience in development of System Security Authorization Agreements (SSAA) to meet Department of Defense (DoD) Information Technology Security Certification and Accreditation Process (DITSCAP) analysis of security requirements and Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs) is a plus Active Secret clearance is required to start To apply for this job go to L3s Career page at httpwwwl3comcomcareers httpwwwl3comcomcareers select Job Search (US Jobs) Job Number 32619 Company Information Founded in 1997 L3 Communications is a prime contractor in Command Control Communications Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C3ISR) systems aircraft modernization and maintenance and government services L3 is also a leading provider of a broad range of electronic systems used on military and commercial platforms With annual sales of 152 billion in 2011 and having approximately 61000 employees worldwide L3 (NYSELLL) ranks amongst the top defense contractors in the world L3 CommunicationsC2S2 offers competitive salaries and benefits package To learn more about C2S2 visit our website at httpwwwc2s2l3comcom httpwwwc2s2l3comcom C2S2 is an Equal Opportunity Employer MFDV
