Title: Manager of Software Engineering
As a Manager of Software Engineering , you’ll act as one of Enova’s heavy hitters, managing a small team of four to five developers while serving as an enterprise application architect for your team. Your responsibilities will include high-level design of large systems, delivering large projects to stakeholders, providing feedback, mentorship, and career path advice to your team, building team chemistry, and more. You will be expected to educate developers on solid engineering principles through design and code reviews, scrum meetings, etc. Additionally, your projects will vary greatly, requiring regular interaction with cross-functional teams. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
Minimum 1-2 years of hands on software engineering management experience with direct reports
Proven experience coaching, mentoring, and developing a team
A passion for creating code and using open source technologies
Self motivation and a proven ability to deliver
Strong project management skills; ability to estimate scope, break up problems into deliverable chunks, and estimate accurate timelines
Experience designing and creating small to large web application solutions
Current experience with object-oriented languages like Ruby, Perl, Python, Java, or PHP
Experience working with Linux
Proficiency in Ruby and Ruby on Rails
Strong advocate of Test Driven Development
Superior analytic and logic skills
Proficient in patterns of Enterprise Application Architecture
Well versed in the principles of Object Oriented Design
