POSITION: Janitor, Lead

Currently seeking a Janitor, Lead -Responsible for supervising a team of stewards in the cleaning of dormitories, work centers and recreational facilities, as well as leading special projects. Also responsible for performing cleaning and laundry duties as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises and assists in the cleaning, maintenance and restocking of supplies in common use areas of dormitories, work centers and recreational facilities, i.e. lounges, hallways, stairwells, toilet and shower areas, laundry areas and recycling centers.
Supervises and assists in training of new stewards, demonstrating proper ergonomics and cleaning techniques.
Supervises and assists in daily special projects, including carpet extraction, waxing and buffing floors, carpet shampooing, etc.
Supervises and assists in restocking of required janitorial cleaning supplies.
Supervises and assists in the collection, preparation, and distribution of linen packs to and from the laundry facility.
Supervises and overlooks the laundry facility.
Assists housing office in performing lock out during off work hours.
Assists housing office in performing room inspections for residents leaving station.
Responsible for making up rooms for arriving Distinguished Visitors, maintaining contact with the NSF Administrative Coordinator for turn around, and ensuring rooms are clean after their departure.
Responsible for calling in work order requests to the Work Order Scheduler for processing with facilities maintenance.
Performs quality assurance inspection of steward cleaning runs.
Coordinates scheduling with Steward Supervisor.
Creates the daily tasking schedule.
Works with other departments to develop cleaning schedule.
Provides direct support, using staff resources if necessary, to the achievement of all metrics related to ASC.
Complies with all ASC Environmental Health & Safety, and Quality Assurance, requirements and goals. Provides documentation to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation.
Works to achieve ASC goals and contractual commitments
Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
Conducts safety and maintenance presentations on janitorial related topics, products, and machines.
Responsible for developing and running daily meetings.
Responsible for completing supply order for all buildings cleaned on station and maintaining contact with Central Supply.
Must be able to lift the safety regulation maximum and perform functions requiring repetitive motion. May be required to work on hands and knees, i.e. scrubbing floors, toilets, and showers.
May be required to work the night shift in conjunction with Dining Attendant, Lead.
Performs other duties as needed.
EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED.
CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR LICENSING REQUIREMENTS: Valid driver's license required.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of one year experience in a custodial related industry required. One year supervisory experience required. Previous institutional cleaning experience preferred. Experience cleaning large facilities and previous manual labor experience preferred. Experience in floor care (i.e. scrubbing, stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, etc) preferred. Three consecutive months of related experience leading up to time of application preferred.
OTHER: US citizenship required.
