Operating Room Duties

§

Assist the surgeon, on a rotating basis, with procedures in the operating room , both insurance and cosmetic, which can include but not limited to suturing, draping, cutting, administering local anesthetic, and dressing changes.

§

Meet with the patient and families before and after surgery to provide updates and answer questions

Clinical Nursing Duties

§

Prepares equipment and assists physician during treatment, examination and testing of patients.

§

Ability to set up sterile surgical fields with proper sterile techniques.

§

Performs procedures per direction from providers, with and without the presence of provider

§

Performs nursing care to patients.

Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.

Remove sutures, drains, and staples.

§

Administration of Botox for hyperhidrosis, Chemical Peels and Blue Peels.

§

Ability to determine complications and proper treatment

§

Provides direct care to patients as well as follow-through care per telephone.

§

Triages phone calls from patients requesting any type of medical information.

Transcribes information given to patients on a telephone to the medical record.

§

Educate insurance and cosmetic inquiries on applicable surgery during inquiry process.

Provide support and answer questions on applicable surgeries during consultation.

Responsible for keeping in contact with potential clinic and surgical patients (calls, letters) and past patients with gift certificates.

§

Knowledge and education to patients of skin care products.

§

Provide and explain quotes to cosmetic patients during consultation.

§

Prepare clinic for clinic and laser appointments including printing charge tickets

§

Ability to write surgery orders, H & Ps, chart notes, referring doctor letters and prescriptions.

§

Schedule clinical appointments.

Make reminder calls to patients prior to appointment.

§

Schedule surgeries, make pre-op phone calls, schedule pre-op visits, monitor H & P clearance, perform nicotine testing and ensure all necessary paperwork if completed prior to surgery.

Communicate surgeries with various departments within the hospital.

§

Ability to photograph patients using photography and video equipment.

§

Ability to use Autoclave to clean and sterilize instruments.

§

Assists in organizing drug samples and medical supplies.

§

Responsible for maintaining nursing skills through continuing education.

§

Float coverage for other clinics when physician is on vacation.

§

Ability to alter schedule to meet the needs of the clinic patients and cover for vacations.

Administrative Duties

§

Responsible for transferring dictations to patient records and assuring completion of all dictation.

§

Preparation of draft operative notes.

§

Organizes and follows through on medical reports and records of patients.

§

Ability to use CPT and ICD codes for insurance approvals including contacting insurance companies by telephone or mail.

§

Coordinate laser schedule with PA or CNP

§

Computer skills must be current with Nextech, LSS and Meditech.

§

Ability to work with Nextech technical support for updates to templates for schedules and clinical forms.

Work with Nextech on performance issues.

§

Scanning and filing of clinical documentation.

§

Collection of cosmetic payments.

§

Assist physician in maintaining CME and required board certification reports

§

Work with business office to ensure communication of charges and diagnosis codes

§

Working with Manager of Surgical Specialty Clinics to roll out marketing campaigns including but not limited to direct mailings, email marketings, facebook posts, botox reminders and updating before and after pictures in the clinic photo album and on the website.

§

Maintain patient education material (brochures, welcome packets, registration forms)

§

Maintaining office and medical supplies inventories along with implant consignments.

§

Oversees appointment bookings and ensures preferences are given to patients in emergency situations. Maintains timely flow of patients.

§

Responsible for on-going patient education.

§

Responsible for organization of outreach and to assist the physician in these clinics.

§

Ability to multitask and prioritize work.

§

Maintains patient confidentiality.

§

Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested

Ability to be a team player and work well with others.
