PROGRAM DIRECTOR FOR THE

JOINT MASTER OF SOCIAL WORK PROGRAM

(ASSOCIATE OR FULL PROFESSOR)

The Department of Sociology and Social Work at North Carolina
Agricultural and Technical State University and the Department of
Social Work at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro are
searching for a Director for the Joint Master of Social Work
Program, operated collaboratively by both universities. This is a
12-month Associate or Full Professor position, available July 1,
2011; the position will be a joint appointment, with tenure on both
campuses. The candidate must have a strong commitment to
diversity/inclusion, social justice, and student-centered social
work education. Preference will be given to applicants who are
eligible for tenured appointment as Full Professor at both
universities.

While program direction will be the central focus of the position,
the selected candidate will also teach in the JMSW Program, provide
service to one or both of the universities and the community, and
maintain a program of scholarship. NCA&TSU and UNCG are
currently planning a social work Ph.D. program; the person in this
position will have the opportunity to contribute toward that
planning process and participate in the Ph.D. program if it is
approved.

The candidate must be able to work effectively within and between
two diverse campuses and departments.

Minimum Qualifications: MSW and a Ph.D. in social work or a
related field; previous graduate level teaching experience in
social work education; previous experience in academic
administration; excellent interpersonal skills; and a record of
scholarship and external funding appropriate for appointment at the
rank of Associate or Full (preferred) Professor. Experience with
CSWE accreditation standards and procedures is preferred.
