Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning
The Center of Innovation in Teaching and Learning is a new Center funded by the J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Foundation. The Center seeks to transform P-16 education in the State of Idaho and beyond through the creative combination of technology and pedagogy. The Center will use and research best practices and test unproven practices.

Description of Position
This is an hourly, full-time, twelve-month, level 5 position. Its responsibilities include supporting the Director of the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning and supporting the research being done in conjunction with the Center.

Supervisory/Working Relationships
The person in this position will work for and be supervised by the Director of the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning.

Essential Functions
Serve as the initial contact for the Center, including the answering of phone and email, as well as receipt, sending, and distribution of mail
Coordinate and manage events connected with the Center’s activities, both on and off campus. Tasks include arranging media and set up of such, all aspects of event planning, scheduling venue, securing speakers/presenters, etc.
Prepare and revise online and hard-copy documents for the Director and the Center
Manage the web content of the Center
Schedule meetings with on- and off-campus personnel
Prepare purchase statements and manage financial reporting
Learn the technology associated with the Center and with education
Collect and manage research data, including extensive organization of research projects and data received from multiple sources and multiple tests
Receive, respond to, and coordinate school and district inquiries, ongoing projects and assessments, and equipment purchases
Visit schools, on occasion, on behalf of Director
Work toward and become an expert in the use of Khan Academy
Other Functions

Minimum Qualifications
Sufficient skills, knowledge and training to take full ownership of and responsibility for all essential functions of this position
The University requires that all candidates be Christians (preferably in the Wesleyan tradition), and must be comfortable with, in agreement with the mission and lifestyle values of NNU
High motivation and commitment to the University, including the ability to self-start, be calm under pressure, meet deadlines, work without direct supervision, be able to multi-task, and relate to a variety of personalities under diverse circumstances
Strong organization skills attention to detail, with the ability to work quickly in an open environment
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to think critically, solve problems effectively and efficiently, and make rational decisions based on knowledge of position and office capabilities
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Very comfortable with technology and able to learn new technology easily. This includes: PCs, Mac, tablets, mobile devices
Expert in all Microsoft Office products
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Basic bookkeeping knowledge
A good understanding of statistics

Salary is dependent upon the educational background and prior work experience of each applicant, with a range between $10.00 and $12.00 per hour. Full-time staff will be offered a benefits package including health, vision, and dental insurance for employee and family, annual leave, sick leave, holidays, long-term disability, group life insurance, a retirement program, and tuition benefits for employee and dependents.
