Field Engineer shall provide technical support for Digital Microwave Initiative embedded within government technical program.
Tasking will include testing C-OFDM, OFDM digitally modulated video broadcast radios and bi-directional radios.
The support shall include assisting in the system level design of a metropolitan wide RF infrastructure to include antenna system selection, RF signal distribution and predicted coverage plots.
Support shall also include supporting existing RF infrastructure by providing technical phone support and training to field technicians as well as travel to various offsite locations to assist in the installation and repair of the Agency RF video infrastructure.
The RF field engineer shall be knowledgeable in Electrical Engineering and RF Engineering principles. The engineer shall have a solid understanding of RF theory, antenna theory, RF propagation, digital modulation techniques and shall be proficient with RF instruments such as signal generators, network and spectrum analyzers.
The RF engineer shall understand TCP/IP protocols, have networking skills and experience with testing IP radios.
The applicant shall have at least 3-5 years of experience in the wireless industry troubleshooting, optimizing and designing wireless communications sites.
The applicant shall be organized, detailed orientated and able to communicate effectively in verbal and written formats.
Candidate should be able to use basic PC applications including Word, Outlook, Excel and Visio US Citizenship and active TS clearance *required.* Preferred Skills:
