The Business Banking Commercial Products Underwriter will work closely with a team of Client Managers and Credit Products Officers to address the credit needs of clients. Primary responsibilities include: 1) Preparation of credit pre-screen memos, including the analysis of financial performance trends, repayment capacity, operational risks, industry dynamics, collateral, and other critical issues; 2) Assisting Credit Products Analyst in spreading financial statements and generating risk rating scorecards; 3) Working with Client Managers on client selectivity, pre-screening credit requests below CPO threshold, making credit structuring recommendations 4) Preparation of complete Credit Approval Memorandums and interim and annual credit reviews, including the monitoring of financial covenants and operating trends, and proactively identifying issues and opportunities for relationships in excess of $5 million in partnership with the CPO. Secondary responsibilities include supporting Centralized Credit Approval and Monitoring as needed across the MidWest Region.
Qualifications
BS/BA degree with 2-7 years of solid experience in financial analysis, structuring, underwriting, and portfolio management preferred. Requires strong communication and analytical/technical skills, including financial accounting and loan structuring.
