Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems sector is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The Software Engineering Organization at the Weapons System Support Center located on Tinker Air Force Base requires a software engineer design, develop and implement specifications for software applications that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Modifies and maintains the existing software systems as well as designs upgrades and enhancements. The Engineer will develop, modify and maintain customized or standardized applications using software engineering best practices and standards; participate in design and coding activities with other team members; contribute to the definition of functional and technical requirements for application software. Full life-cycle software development and hardware experience for advanced system, to include design, application development and testing, releasing, installation, and maintenance of system software. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Develop new capabilities as well as resolve system integration anomalies. Support hardware control, firmware components, Graphical User Interface (GUI) design, and database development. Other responsibilities will include direct interaction with end users and the customer.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor degree or equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or related technical discipline plus a minimum of 0-1 years experience in Object-Oriented Design, C, C++, C# software development with .NET; experience programming simulation software, laboratory tools or embedded/integrated airborne systems; experience of software engineering and architectural concepts, security principles, and tools relevant to integrated development; Strong analytical coordination, organization, teaming and communication skills. U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance as well as the ability to obtain/maintain a Special Access Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
MS Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or related technical discipline; Experience/working knowledge of the development of analytical tools and numerical modeling of complex systems using Green Hills, MATLAB or a similar computing environment, Rational Clear Case; Experience with standards utilizing MIL-STD-1553B or messaging or Ethernet communication protocol; Experience with UNIX, Linux, SQL, and relational databases such as Oracle; Software / Systems Engineering experience of large, complex weapons systems; Experience in military engineering, military software development, avionics, or flight simulation
