Provide administrative direction and overall project management to assigned program and building projects. Program Manager is responsible for the execution of multiple and simultaneous construction projects from approval phase through completion. Must possess general knowledge of financial and contractual documents and be able to track, drill down and analyze activities and issues in order to make sound business decisions based on the data.
Manage network refurbishment budget of approximately $500,000 per year.
Manage moderately large equipment purchases, e.g., EKG machines, X-ray equipment, furnishings for regional practices.
Manage regional facility contracts, e.g., housekeeping, signage, security systems, garbage removal, utilities, etc.
Represent Duke Primary Care (DPC) in lease negotiations.
Represent Duke Primary Care on construction, renovation and expansion projects.
Perform initial site assessments in order to participate in recommendations for whether a site meets network goals for location and growth.
Coordinate with FPDC in the development of building plans, valuations, acquisition, and business terms for regional practices.
Prepare needs assessments by meeting with all stakeholders and incorporating building and office parameters from planning phase, including IT and telephony requirements.
Determine equipment needs based on room and services specific to site, e.g., radiology, bone density, etc.
Act as liaison between DPC and Disability Management Services, Infection Control, Environmental Safety, Ergonomics, Fire Safety and Duke Public Safety.
Ensure compliance with JCAHO, ADA
Track projects against schedule, budget and phase review objectives, reporting status to supervisor on a regular basis and executive staff on an as needed basis.
Develop and implement recovery plans for off-schedule and unanticipated situations.
Communicate with all parties to ensure coordination of activities and meet deadlines.
Ensure smooth transition of site development to final building or project completion.
Work requires the ability to plan and administer programs and direct program activities within a specific functional area.
Demonstrated Project Management experience.
Organize, plan and direct multiple related activities, both within and external to DPC, related to site development and expansion plans.
Primary/Ambulatory Care physician practice management experience strongly preferred
Strong interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills.
Ability to work closely and collaboratively with primary care network teams to ensure project completion.
Ability to respond quickly and positively to shifting priorities, demands and opportunities.

Education Work requires communications, analytical and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.
