The Bioinformatics Team in the Pioneer Wilmington location is primarily responsible for supporting Crop Genetic Research. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide architecture design on software infrastructure, develop software framework, and provide system support, as well as perform application development.

Provide architecture design and guidelines on the bioinformatics computing environment. Develop and optimizing application frameworks, including development, Quality Assurance, production, and larger scale analysis. Work with system administration team to define system configuration, capability and capacity. Develop bioinformatics applications using various software platforms and appropriate client-server models. Design and constructing large scale data analysis and management pipelines. Perform system administration on Linux and database systems by working with the administration team and the DBA team. Evaluate and recommend technology strategy for hardware and software environment necessary to support bioinformatics research. Interact with senior management and research scientists to define the team vision, strategy, and future projects.
