Responsible for coordinating all administrative aspects of Career Readiness candidates’ commitment to enrollment prior to their entry into the Career Preparation Period
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrates and abides by the Company Core Values and the operating principles
Ensures that all potential enrollees assigned to the Career Readiness Program are assessed for accountability and participation in accordance with Campus, Corporate and Regional standards
Maintain and finalize CTR portfolios, resumes, and cover letters. Ensuring SE actively participates in the updating of resume.
Monitors the CTR candidates utilize their lunch time to conduct CTR business.
Administers and evaluates the “Life Skills Learning Package”, provides remedial training as needed.
Supervises preparation of culmination activity at the close of each training week.
Responsible for preparing candidates’ certificates for presentation at culmination activity
Promotes a positive and desirable atmosphere within the classroom setting to ensure maximum motivation.
Maintains a high degree of discipline within the classroom setting.
Establishes, encourages and develops a high degree of trainee/instructor rapport with candidates.
Ensures accountable and responsible classroom preparation
Encourages candidates to take accountability for their actions and for their attendance
Assists in accountability and maintenance of building, equipment and supplies, reporting all safety and security violations.
Prepares and enters purchase requests for the WFD department, to include soliciting quotes
Transport of CTR candidates to the area One Stop to update registration.
Schedule events with community programs, resources, visitors, guest speakers.
Organize mini modules for early evening programs. To include determining topic, arranging staff presentation of module or conducting the training as needed.
Projects supplies and/or equipment needs and submits requisitions to the CTS Manager
Enters, maintains and updates any and all CTR activity through case notes in a timely manner.
Active participation with all major student events, such as: Graduation, Prom, Valentines Day, etc.
Maintaining a “Direct Placement” goal of 45% with a similar PDOF goal.
Attends all required training sessions
Schedule flexibility for possible evening programing
Performs other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in work-related area, or equivalent combination of education and experience. One year’s work-related experience
Previous Job Corps experience
In order to perform the essential job functions of this position, candidate must have regular attendance. Possess a NYS driver’s license with the ability to obtain a CDL with passenger endorsement.
Knowledge of education and vocational training programs. Ability to effectively communicate with and relate to disadvantaged youth. Working knowledge of computer systems. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to maintain a valid CPR/First Aid certificate.
