The position holder will create value and realize cost savings that are a multiple of the holders’ employment cost. The position holder will also ensure the Platform derives optimum value from all its R&D facilities, especially the recently-opened Innovation Center in Wichita. In shouldering these responsibilities, the position holder will ensure the activities above are complementary to those of BUs and BU Technology Directors.

Build a portfolio of new food safety technologies relevant to all BUs that help establish us as the global industry leader in all aspects meat safety and secure funding from the Technology Venture Fund

Work with other groups in the Technology function and Corporate Affairs to develop a more proactive stance on nutritional/compositional issues, coordinated across Cargill, to anticipate threats and realize opportunities.

Develop a technology strategy that links BUs employing similar or related business models (may need several subsets for the CAPS Platform given different customers, regions involved). This strategy should clearly identify what we do (areas of focus) and what we don’t do (and disinvest from if necessary and/or leverage other core technologies/sciences in Cargill outside CAPS).

25% Talent Leadership:
Be responsible for top talent across the Platform, particularly corporately designated talent and BU Technology Leaders and oversee their career development

Develop succession plans for all senior Technology talent in BUs

Act as the overall leader for all culinary resources Cargill-wide

10% Cargill Innovation Center Leadership, Wichita:
Be the focal point for customers, the community, and local city/state stakeholders. BU Technology Leaders will handle their customer visits, and the Leader would only be involved where large customers with multiple BU contacts are involved

Ensure consistent execution of food safety and EHS policies and optimal use of Cargill Innovation Center assets and resources, coordinate budgets as necessary, realize synergies etc. otherwise, NO administrative role.

Lead local shared services (food safety, regulatory, nutrition, culinary) and leverage these resources more widely across the Platform and Cargill where practical
