Assists with processing of clean linen, filling of linen carts, filling special orders, delivery of linen, stocking of nurse servers throughout the Medical Center and working with all Laundry equipment.
Receive clean linen from laundry service:
Assist in unloading the truck of clean linen.
Get full linen tubs of clean linen into staging area for carts.
Assist in loading truck with dirty linen.
Stocks shelves in linen area.
Fills par level linen carts per specified stocking levels.
Fills special orders.
Records the linen counts for all linen distributed.
Sorts linen by like items and in an efficient manner.
Answers telephone and responds to linen requests.
Pack linen for sterile procedures.
Fold linen, towel etc.
Distributes linen to appropriate departments throughout the medical center.
Exchanges carts per schedule.
Exchanges carts as requested if needed.
Operates all equipment in a safe manner.
Folds linen manually or as needed.
Reports all equipment malfunctions to Supervisor.
Uses universal precautions and safe infection control practices.
High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous laundry experience preferred, but not required.
Must be able to read, write and use basic math skills.
Excellent communication skills are necessary because of constant communication with Lead Tech and other associates to maintain production.
