Applications are being accepted for a Research Staff Member Position in the Statistical Analysis & Forecasting Group of Business Analytics & Mathematical Sciences Department. The responsibilities include providing statistical expertise to projects impacting current IBM business and conducting methodological research in statistics as related to business analytics. The work is collaborative in nature, teaming with other researchers/scientists, business executives/consultants, market analysts, system/software engineers, external clients, and others. A Ph.D. degree in statistics and at least one year of experience in statistical methods development for business applications are required. Also required are outstanding research potential/record, broad knowledge in statistical methods, and excellent communication/collaboration/leadership skills. Applicants are expected to have keen interest in solving a wide range of business problems, and to be an effective team member in interdisciplinary projects. The candidate will also work closely with IBM product or services teams and develop innovative algorithms that are compatible and integrated with one or more IBM products and/or services. Preference will also be given to applicants who are fluent in object-oriented programming languages, such as Java and C++ with knowledge of IBM’s portfolio of hardware, software and services assets.
- Master's Degree
- At least 1 year experience in Conduct research in statistical methods for business analytics
- At least 1 year experience in Develop statistical analysis based solutions to business projects
- English: Intermediate
- Doctorate Degree in Mathematics
- At least 2 years experience in Robust and nonparametric statistical method development
- At least 1 year experience in Spatio-temporal statistical analysis method development
- Basic knowledge in Implement the developed methods in software solutions
- English : Fluent
