Under general supervision of the Purchasing Manager, the Inventory Control Specialist (ICS) is responsible for executing inventory control measures to ensure company minimizes stock holding and maximizes inventory system, and ensures overall accuracy of inventory related data, which includes performing audits, and cycle counts. ICS examines and investigates misidentified or out of balance items. Identifies problematic inventory records, and with permission from management makes appropriate adjustments. Also, ensures accuracy of item class IDs, and/ or stock groups. Maintain the company’s material and stocked product inventory.

Job Responsibilities:

• Execute inventory control measures to ensure company minimizes stock holding and maximizes inventory system, and ensures overall accuracy of inventory related data
• Develops, implements and enforces inventory control procedures
• Identify areas for process improvement, and communicates those to Purchasing Manager.
• Review daily inventory reports
• Tracks item movements from receiving to consumption
• Review stock levels
• Ensure integrity and accuracy of the inventory management system
• Performs a regular routine of cycle counts and others as needed
• Maximize inventory record accuracy
• Works with Finance to develop internal controls and periodically tests control compliance
• Prepare reports for internal and external audit

Job Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree or combination of work experience with relevant professional experience.
• Requires a detailed understanding of inventory control/management systems.
• Must have five years experience in maintaining inventory, establishing reorder points, pricing, cycle counts, and a knowledge of materials management best practices.
• General knowledge of Inventory Systems (ex: SAP, Visual Warehouse, etc.)
• Ability to execute inventory control measures to ensure company minimizes stock holding and maximizes inventory system, and ensures overall accuracy of inventory related data
• Computer skills & experience with Outlook, Excel & Word
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Demonstrate ability to quickly forge effective & productive working relationships with all levels of support staff
