The Transportation Coordinator will serve as a liaison between AMR and the contracted facility(s) to assure that patient movement is a seamless process completed in a safe, timely, and appropriate manner. This position will also maintain data as related to all transports and will be available to the facility as requested.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducts self in a professional manner respecting others needs.
Assist hospital staff with investigation of insurance coverage for transportation needs while maintaining confidentiality.
Ensure that all appropriate paper work is correctly filled out and input into ECIN and is ready for the crew prior to transport (example: PCS forms and any other paperwork that may be necessary to accompany the patient).
Assist with patient transfer onto and off of gurney, especially when a third person is required.
Assist hospital team with patient transfer to designated Express Admit Unit.
Coordinate and order ambulance/CCT(s) for all discharges as requested. Interface with Case Managers, Nurse Leads, Operations and other hospital staff as necessary to coordinate discharge and transportation arrangements.
Assist in the elimination of delays in order to keep patient movement a seamless process.
Provide information regarding transportation services to physicians, nursing personnel in hospital and health care facilities when required.
Provide transported patients detailed information regarding the transport and advise transportation staff on medical needs of patient during the transport which may require knowledge of the patient's condition as it relates to the transfer.
Assist hospital with the discharge process which may include, but is not limited to; helping staff prepare patient for transport, obtain patient valuables from security.
EMS Field Experience
Current Paramedics or EMT certification/all other required certifications
Driving policy in compliance with AMR policy regarding insurability
Excellent customer service skills and a desire to provide solutions to the customer.
Proficient in the operation of ECIN discharge planning program.
Ability to assess each situation and prioritize appropriately to best meet the customers’ needs.
2 years EMS industry experience.
One year of related experience providing dispatching and/or transportation services to hospital patients.
