Assumes responsibility for obtaining current accurate information and expanding knowledge base through utilization of appropriate resources. Responsible for 24-hour interpretation of all telemetry patients. Communicates with Registered Nurse, and Nursing Assistant via Cisco phone system to accurately manage telemetry needs and rhythm changes. Completes rhythm interpretation and documentation every 2 hours and runs a comprehensive report (telemetry strips) and posts to patient charts every 6 hours. Obtains accurate data as to phone assignments for all telemetry capable units. Reviews report sheets at the end of the shift with his/her replacement.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must satisfactorily complete first available "Cardiac Dysrhythmia Course for Telemetry Technicians", or provide documentation of previous experience and/or training in an approved program
- CPR certification
To provide a safe, healthy environment for our patients, employees and visitors, as of January 1, 2013 McLaren Bay will no longer hire individuals who use nicotine and will test for nicotine during the pre-employment process. Individuals whose health screening results are verified positive for tobacco/nicotine use will be disqualified from employment, their job offer will be rescinded, and they will be disqualified from reapplying for employment for six (6) months from the date of the health screening.
