/ HelpDesk / Desktop needed for Kansas City, MO, 64105 Start Date: June 3, 2013 End Date: October 30, 2013 Hours of Work: 8am - 5pm General Office Shift Requirements: Day Attire: Business Casual Background Investigations: Criminal - County (7 years), Drug, Education, Employment Job Description: Position Responsibilities: The incumbent will serve as a member of the PC Technician team. He/she will install and support desktops, laptops, application software, printers, and related technology. He/she will work with customers on-site and over the phone to identify problems, troubleshoot, resolve issues, and document activities in an incident management system. This position requires excellent communication and customer relationship skills, both verbal and written.

The candidate must be able to work independently, be attentive to detail, be familiar with research techniques as applied to incident resolution and be able to prioritize and multi-task as emerging issues arise. Examples of the job duties the incumbent may perform are: Provide second-tier support to end users for both Hardware and application software Simulate or recreate problems to resolve operating difficulties. Recommend systems modifications to reduce incidents and problems. Required Skills: The incumbent must be an effective communicator and possess excellent customer service skills.

Candidates must be highly motivated, a team player, and have the ability to deal effectively with others. Basic knowledge of Windows XP and Windows 7 operating systems required. Experience using HEAT or similar incident management software is preferred Experience using and troubleshooting the Microsoft Office Suite is preferred. Experience with troubleshooting standard enterprise client/server as well as n-tier applications is preferred.

Examples of what the incumbent should be familiar with and possess demonstrated troubleshooting experience are: Windows XP Windows 7 MS Office 2003 including Outlook MS Office 2010 including Outlook Internet/Intranet environments PC Hardware - HP/Dell Printers/Printing - HP, Lexmark Remote Control Tools Remote Access such as RSA Network issues General application support questions Knowledge and Experience Requirements: Associates Degree in a computer science-related field and 2 years experience in help desk operations preferred. OR 2 years recent experience in PC Tech operations required Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or equivalent preferred A+ Certification or equivalent experience desired ITIL Foundations certification desired BS/BA in computer science electronics.
