Reports to the Associate Dean for Sponsored Programs, Director, Grants and Contracts Office, and the Assistant Director of Finance, Clinical Trials Budget and Billing Office, regarding research-related activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Negotiate clinical trial agreements and amendments on behalf of Mount Sinai School of Medicine (MSSM). Generally negotiations occur with pharmaceutical or device company attorneys and have broad legal repercussions to the Institution.

Review and negotiate (if applicable) funding agreements from other Educational Institutions and Non-Profit Sponsors (AHA, etc.)

Negotiate Site Agreements for large scale, NIH-funded clinical trials with coordinating centers at MSSM.

Liaison to the Office of Technology and Business Development for Sponsored Research Agreements and Intellectual Property issues pertaining to Non-Profit Agreements.

Liaison to Risk Management for Certificate of Insurance Requests.

Liaison to Sponsored Projects Accounting (SPA) for subcontracts written by SPA, but signed by GCO.

Identifies projects for Registry Committee review and obtains and distributes registry

committee documents.

Job Qualifications:

Experience:

A thorough knowledge of grants and contracts administration at a level generally acquired through central office grants management experience of and professional education such as SRA or NCURA Sponsored Programs Administration Levels I and II along with clinical trials negotiation training (MAGI or other similar). Excellent verbal communication and comprehension skills at a level generally acquired through professional employment and strong academic history.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Clinical trials negotiation training (MAGI, etc.) desirable. NCURA or SRA Certification preferred.
