Raytheon’s Electronic Design Directorate (EDD) provides engineering design, integration and production to core radar, sonar, torpedo and combat system competencies including process and control, integration and test, power systems, torpedo and sonar electronics, receivers and exciters, antennas and microwave subassemblies.
The Receiver, Exciter and Signal Processing Department in the EDD has responsibility for the following areas:
Real Time Software Design - Signal Processing, Beam Steering, and Embedded Control Software Signal and Data Processing Systems –High performance computing and processing architecture. System specification, evaluation, and design, n etwork architecture and design of systems from small scale to clusters containing several hundred nodes. Receiver & Exciter Design – Receiver and Exciter System Analysis, Exciter Design, Receiver Design, Low Noise Sources, Simulation and Modeling, Metrology, and Integration and Test Mixed Signal Design - Receiver A/D Converters, Direct Digital Converters, Receiver D/A Converters, Digital Waveform Generators, Mixed Signal Circuit Card Assemblies, Mixed Signal Modules and Subsystems Digital Hardware - Subsystem/Module Digital Circuits, FPGA/ASICs, Beam Steering, Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) systems, COTS interfaces, Subsystem Development, VME/PCI/Custom circuit card design Digital Systems – System Trades, Architecture, Embedded Processing
Senior Engineer II Digital Designer and Digital Sub-System Integrator
This position is for a multi-disciplined Senior Engineer II, capable of solving complex technical problems and providing highly innovative and ingenious solutions in the areas of radar digital control system design and integration, digital circuit card design, digital and mixed signal sub-systems as well as FPGA/CPLD design. Responsibilities include developing advanced technological ideas and guiding their development into a final product. Other responsibilities include task management and architectural development of digital subsystems. The candidate must have demonstrated the ability to apply advanced technical principles, theories and concepts. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to mentor less experienced engineers.
This position can be a Salary Grade E04 or Salary Grade E05 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.
Position locations in MA. can be: Sudbury, Tewksbury, Andover or Woburn
Basic Qualifications Skills :
Experience translating system performance and operational specifications into hardware requirements, design, and test to specifications
Experience in the design, test and troubleshooting of digital and mixed signal circuits
Experience in high density high speed digital and mixed signal circuit card design including FPGA/CPLD programming (VHDL.)
Experience in simulation, integration, test and analysis of complex systems and sub-systems
Experience in digital receiver/exciter control and integration Fiber Optic data transfer link design Hardware and Firmware aspects Mixed Signal Design - Receiver A/D Converters, Direct Digital Converters, Receiver D/A Converters, Digital Waveform Generators, high density circuit card design.
Minimum of 8 years applicable experience required
BSEE, MSEE preferred however, experience will be evaluated as equivalence

Outstanding academic credentials
Radar or Communications systems site setup and evaluation experience
Broad engineering background
Experience in radar receiver/exciter or beam steering digital design and development preferable
Experience in both advanced technology development and in engineering production support
Experience with FPGA and CPLD design in a synchronous domain
Experience with technical and cost proposal development
A high degree of creativity and demonstrated problem solving capability
Experience using Clearcase, and programs and utilities that make up the GNU toolset Integration and test experience in a hardware/software laboratory environment
Requirements test planning and sell off Strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to work across engineering disciplines.
Prior experience with Communications systems or Radar systems large scale digital and software interface integration
