JOB SUMMARYThe Nursing Director is responsible for the daily coordination of nursing administration, for which she/he has responsibility, including clinical practice, human resources management, fiscal accountability, productivity, and regulatory compliance. She/he will exhibit leadership, humanism and professionalism in the management of her/his department. She/he demonstrates motivation and creativity and serves as a catalyst for effective changes within Nursing at the institutional and department level. The director, Nursing, oversees nursing staff in the provision of nursing care consistent with Nursing Standards of Care/Practice, The Plan for the Provision of Nursing Care, The Plan forProvision of Patient Care, CSMC Code of Conduct, the Performance Improvement Plan, The Patient Education Plan and Professional Organization Standards.The Director, Nursing, is responsible for assuring staff competency in identifying the ability of the child, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients to follow direction/instruction and give consent. She/he is responsible for assuring that staff can identify safety concerns and institute measures to provide a safe environment; provide appropriate assessment, intervention, care planning and evaluation of patients with consideration of developmental milestones in the neonate, infant, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient population.
