POSITION: Volunteer Program Manager
RESPONSIBLE TO: Vice President of Human Resources
SUMMARY: The Volunteer Program Manager is responsible for the recruitment, training, placement, and supervision of all volunteers throughout Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains. The position is also responsible for encouraging staff to further expand PPRM’s mission through the utilization of volunteers. Ensures adherence to organizations’ policies and procedures. This position is salaried, exempt.
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of one year experience working in human services field and one year of direct supervisory experience; recruitment experience highly desirable; strong computer, written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work flexible hours are required. Capable of relating to individuals at all levels. Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license are also required. Bi-lingual, Bi-cultural (English/Spanish) preferred.
1.To conduct all recruitment, screening, and placement of prospective volunteers.
2.To assess volunteer training needs in conjunction with other departments and develop and conduct volunteer training, including development of training materials and recruitment and oversight of staff and professional trainers.
3.To represent the agency and the volunteer department by attending community events and serving on committees.
4.To ensure current recruitment, training, and motivation techniques through attendance at volunteer management seminars and conferences and through participation in related professional membership associations (e.g., DOVIA, PPNOVA,) as budgets will allow.
5.To compile monthly and annual volunteer reports of volunteers’ hourly contribution to the agency as well as other identified performance indicators.
6.To monitor personnel problems or security issues involving volunteers and provide appropriate solutions and documentation.
7.To serve as a resource for all volunteer coordinators and department heads by providing training in the areas of volunteer recruitment, management, recognition, and personnel issues.
8.To participate in budget development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the program.
9.To maintain an accurate database of all current and past volunteers to ensure access to volunteers when needed.
10.Develops and maintains contact with educational institutions, community groups and other sources of applicants for volunteering and/or employment.
11.Utilizes internal (Authoria)/external Internet on-line recruiting strategies for attracting and recruiting candidates.
12.Assists in development and management of on-campus and off-site recruitment programs including job fairs, trade shows and media presence. Make presentations as necessary.
13.Travel among PPRM’s health care centers as required.
14.To perform any other duties necessary to the successful implementation and maintenance of the Volunteer Program or as assigned by the Vice President of Human Resources.
15.Participates in abortion services (participation can include referrals, information, education, counseling, performing, scheduling, etc.)
