The person in this position will be making an impact not only at the company but also in the Internet marketing industry, as he or she will be working on innovative projects and participating as a key member of the team. The Database Administrator will ensure the proper operation, maintenance, recovery, security and integrity of various databases and the data stored within.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Provide day-to-day support and maintenance for MySQL databases
  • Monitor database events and proactively optimize system performance
  • Perform health checks to ensure the integrity of the schema and data
  • Perform health checks to ensure the synchronization of database replicas
  • Collaborate with other team members to resolve complex application performance analysis
  • Develop and implement report-friendly database schemata
  • Facilitate reporting through efficient data aggregation from multiple databases
  • Develop and maintain the database architecture for each project
  • Develop and maintain the appropriate operational documentation for each database
Skills & Specifications

  • Intermediate to expert knowledge of MySQL and other database products
  • Intermediate to export knowledge about server hardware infrastructure and Linux-derived operating systems
  • Scripting and database query skills
  • Knowledge of backup strategies
  • Knowledge of clusters and high availability technologies
Education & Qualifications

  • 2-5 years experience as a Database Administrator
  • Degrees in Computer science, IT, software engineering, web development, programming or other subjects are a plus
  • Certification in PHP web development and software programming are a plus
