POSITION SUMMARY
The Certified SPD Technician, under the supervision of the Lead Tech SPD, is responsible for the activities associated with furnishing sterile and non-sterile supplies and patient care equipment/devices in support of the department’s internal and external customers. Responsible for notifying SPD lead staff regarding the ordering and maintenance of the Operating Room’s inventory of custom packs, Sterile Processing’s single use and reusable supply inventory, and equipment status via established departmental pathways. Responsible for the delivery and retrieval of SPD inventory items via appropriate transfer protocols. Performs all other duties assigned.
Job Requirements
1. The qualified candidate is a high school graduate or equivalent, a graduate of an accredited school for Central Service Technicians.
2. Maintains current certification by the International Association of Health Care Central Service Materials Management registry body.
3. Demonstrates a working knowledge in the use of the department computer systems.
