Position summary :|
This position executes general maintenance tasks associated with Passenger Boarding Bridges and associated equipment, the external, internal, and atmospheric corrosion control program for an assigned area of responsibility. Performs General Maintenance tasks and Corrosion Technician responsibilities under basic supervision and is expected to have a competent knowledge of general maintenance and corrosion mechanisms and mitigation techniques. Regularly utilizes tools to power wash, sand, and paint equipment and facilities exposed to the elements. Must be adept at conducting detailed analysis of corrosion data/reporting and capable of resolving complex corrosion issues with minimal assistance.
High School Diploma or GED
Active Driver License
1-2 years of related experience
Must have knowledge of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
Conduct cathodic protection and atmospheric corrosion control surveys/reports
Test, adjust, and maintain existing protection equipment and testing facilities.
Power wash, sand, and paint equipment and surfaces exposed to the elements to control and prevent corrosion.
Maintain and update corrosion control records.
Inspect the installation of protection equipment and testing facilities.
Analyze corrosion related failures and/or changes to the system and recommend/implement corrective action.
Troubleshoot and assist in preventive and corrective maintenance related to PBB and associated equipment.
Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
Ability to use hand trucks, forklifts, tugs and lift trucks
Basic Microsoft Office knowledge (Excel, Word)
Essential duties and responsibilities:
The Corrosion Control Technician will perform corrosion control and other basic general maintenance duties as needed with a professional demeanor. Must be able to analyze and evaluate corrosion control and develop plans of action to control and stop the corrosion. Frequent sanding, power washing and painting required. Also responsible for responding to trouble calls immediately after announced. Drive and operate different equipment such as golf cart, company vehicles, forklift, etc. Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
Support the Site Manager and the operation in special projects and assignments.
While performing the duties of the General Maintenance / Corrosion Control Technician, the employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit.
Work Environment :
While performing the duties of the General Maintenance / Corrosion Control Technician, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee frequently works in high, precarious places and is frequently exposed to heat. The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
